Israeli occupation authority demolishes Palestinian house in al-Quds

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished a two-story building in the village of Beit Safafa to southeast of al-Quds on Wednesday.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished a two-story building in the village of Beit Safafa to southeast of al-Quds on Wednesday.

Local sources reported that large numbers of Israeli police forces cordoned off the house, owned by Mohammad Joudah, before demolishing it.

Furthermore, Israeli police officers assaulted Joudah and his son before handcuffing them and bundling them into an Israeli military vehicle.

“Despite having a construction permit, our house was demolished without a prior notice,” Joudah’s wife Wedad said, adding that they were heavily fined before obtaining the permit.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), nine Palestinian houses in Eastern al-Quds and area C of the West Bank were demolished, self-demolished or confiscated between the 19th of April 2022 and the 9th of May 2022, leaving 31 Palestinian civilians displaced.
